WHO fine-tunes advice on mask use for everyone, Health News, ET HealthWorld

The WHO on Wednesday tightened guidelines on wearing masks, recommending that, where Covid is spreading, they be worn by everyone in healthcare facilities and for interactions in poorly-ventilated indoor spaces. In June, the WHO urged governments to ask people to wear fabric masks in indoor and outdoor areas. In a more detailed advice published on Wednesday, the WHO said, people —including kids aged 12 or over — should wear masks in shops, workplaces and schools that lack proper ventilation, and when receiving visitors at home. Masks should also be worn outdoors and in well- ventilated indoor spaces where distancing can’t be maintained.
